CHAMBER @ RAVENSCROFT: BORDERS & BRIDGES
Join us in Ravenscroft Hall on Saturday, March 22nd, at 7:00 pm, for a daring program entitled Borders & Bridges! Pieces by an absolute A-list of “B” composers (Barber, Bartók, Beethoven, Borodin, Brahms, and Britten) lead us through a crisp first half with a series of miniatures: In an innovative bit of programming, remarkable, individual movements have been extracted from larger works.
After an intermission, the artists reassemble to perform a piano quintet by Frank Bridge in its entirety (three movements). The line-up of world-class chamber musicians is led by noted violinist Steven Moeckel, who makes his return to the Ravenscroft Hall stage following a remarkable performance in last season’s Celebration concert.
