CHAMBER @ RAVENSCROFT: HAMBURG TO HOLLYWOOD

WHAT TO EXPECT

Step into a world where timeless romanticism and 21st-century modernism intertwine in the 2025-26 Chamber @ Ravenscroft season opener: Hamburg to Hollywood. Join us for an unforgettable chamber music concert that bridges centuries and styles, featuring the soulful elegance of Johannes Brahms and the evocative genius of Danny Elfman.

Brahms, a pillar of the Romantic era, brings rich harmonies, intricate textures, and profound emotional depth to the program. His chamber works are beloved for their intimacy and intensity — music that stirs the heart and nourishes the soul.

In a bold and inspired pairing, concert music of Danny Elfman, best known for his iconic film scores (Edward Scissorhands, Batman, The Nightmare Before Christmas), is also showcased, revealing a daring, atmospheric, and vividly expressive voice. Elfman’s chamber compositions are a thrilling blend of the lyrical and the unexpected, echoing his cinematic flair with a contemporary twist.

Program highlights include:

Johannes Brahms – Op. 25, Piano Quartet No. 1 in G minor, Op. 25

Danny Elfman – Piano Quartet

Whether you’re a lifelong classical enthusiast or a curious listener drawn by Elfman’s unique voice, this concert promises a rare and engaging dialogue between past and present. Please join us in Ravenscroft Hall for Hamburg to Hollywood.
