Cyrille Aimée

For Cyrille Aimée, music is a way of life, setting her free to explore her creative talents wherever her diverse heritage leads. Growing up in a multilingual household in Samois-sur-Seine, home to the Django Reinhardt Festival, Cyrille’s passion for jazz was ignited by the Afro-Caribbean rhythms of her mother’s Dominican Republic.

Her journey has taken her across continents, from New York’s jazz clubs, where she quickly gained a reputation as a fearless improviser and matchless interpreter, to winning the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition. Her collaboration with Steven Sondheim and Wynton Marsalis at New York’s City Centre was hailed as “a revelation,” and her Grammy-nominated album, “Move On,” earned praise from Sondheim himself.

Now based in New Orleans, Cyrille continues to blend jazz, pop, and Caribbean rhythms, culminating in her latest album, “à Fleur de Peau,” produced with Jake Sherman.
