Friday, April 21st, at 7:00pm, Jazzbird welcomes the Bob Shimizu Quartet. Featured artists include Bob Shimizu–Guitar, Stanley Serrano-Bass/Vocals, Mike Florio-Drums, Iaonnis Goudelis-Keyboard/Piano.
“Let’s Get Together”, Bob Shimizu’s second solo release, is a celebration of the song-book of a life-time and a musical journey that pays homage to jazz standards and selections from the great American pop and rock song-books. With “Let’s Get Together,” Bob Shimizu cements himself as a guitarist and purveyor of melody and space. Shimizu’s intention is to deliver engaging tunes that the listener can fall into comfortably, like a conversation with an old friend. Bob’s touring band features Los Angeles native, Stanley Serrano on bass and vocals. Serrano has toured the world with Christian Rocker, Annette Moreno as well as serving as musical director on world tours with Latin Grammy nominee, Tercer Cielo.
Joining Bob on keyboards and piano is the incredibly talented Iaonnis Goudelis. Mike Florio joins Bob on drums. Florio has been performing in the Valley for decades with vocalist, Khani Cole, among others. Florio’s foray into the music business has found him immersed in projects with the likes of Joey DeFrancesco, Jimmy Smith, and Marion Meadows, among others.
Enjoy some great jazz and choose from a fine selection of wine, craft beers, and catered dinner options for purchase. Doors open at 6:00 pm; $10 cover charge at the door, reservations are not required.
