Friday, December 13th, at 7:00pm, Jazzbird welcomes the David Weiss Sextet! Featured artists include David Weiss– Trumpet, Myron Walden– Alto Saxophone, Michael Zilber– Tenor Saxophone, Matt Clark– Piano, Essiet Okon Essiet– Bass, and Joe Dyson– Drums.

Join us for an evening with David Weiss, a visionary trumpeter, composer, and bandleader who has shaped modern jazz through innovation and respect for tradition. Known for his work with legends like Freddie Hubbard and Charles Tolliver, Weiss has been a driving force behind acclaimed ensembles like The Cookers and The New Jazz Composers Octet. His latest project, Auteur, reunites his original sextet, featuring both veteran collaborators and fresh talent, marking their first album in nearly a decade.
