Holly Channell is a drummer, composer and educator. She graduated with a Masters in Jazz Performance from ASU working under the direction of Lewis Nash. She will be headed out to Boston on a full ride scholarship to Berklee Global Jazz Institute starting in the Fall to work alongside Terri Lyne Carrington, John Patitucci, Joe Lovano, George Garzone, Allan Chase, David Gilmore and Anthony Scibilia where she will travel national and internationally performing, teaching and composing. She recently recorded her first debut jazz album with trumpeter Jason Palmer, pianist Mike Kocour, and bassist Ben Hedquist.
This past January 2023, Holly was named a Sister in Jazz by the Jazz Education Network and got to work under the direction of critically acclaimed Jazz Bassist Marion Hayden at the JEN Conference in Orlando Florida.
She will play music from her recently recorded album, as well as other notable jazz standards from her recent tour that celebrated the music of Dorothy Fields.
Joining her during this performance with be Phoenix Jazz Girls Rising’s Claudia Bloom on piano, ASU Bass Instructor Vince Thiefain, and Special Guest on Saxophone, Nash Education Director, Clark Gibson.
