Saturday, March 9th at 7:00 pm, Ravenscroft welcomes the Michael Eckroth Group to the Jazzbird Stage! Featured artists include Michael Eckroth– Piano, Joel Mateo– Drums, Raul Reyes– Bass, and Maurucio Herrera– Percussion.
Experience the vibrant fusion of jazz with Afro-Cuban and Latin influences as Phoenix native and accomplished pianist, Michael Eckroth, takes center stage. Presenting a preview of his upcoming album “Human Geography,” set to release in the summer of 2024 under TRCC Records, this is sure to be a great night of music.
Eckroth, a Grammy nominee, leads a dynamic ensemble featuring esteemed musicians Joel Mateo from Puerto Rico on drums, Mauricio Herrera from Cuba on percussion, and the newcomer bassist Raul Reyes, also from Cuba. Together, they bring a fresh perspective to the genre, infusing it with their diverse backgrounds and experiences. From original compositions to reimagined renditions of beloved Latin standards, every moment of this concert will resonate with energy and creativity!
