Acclaimed vocalist Sarah Tolar and trumpet virtuoso Jason Carder join forces to celebrate one of jazz’s most iconic collaborations — the 1955 album Sarah Vaughan with Clifford Brown. Hailed as Vaughan’s favorite recording session and inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999, the album remains a timeless masterpiece of vocal and instrumental artistry. In this special performance, Tolar and Carder bring their own expressive interpretation to these classic tunes, joined by Angelo Versace on piano, Ben Hedquist on bass, and Dom Moio on drums. A New York City transplant, Tolar is an internationally touring vocalist and songwriter known for her soulful style and appearances on major shows like The Today Show and Late Night with David Letterman. Carder, a renowned trumpeter and University of Arizona professor, is celebrated for his technical mastery and lyrical sensitivity. Together, they honor the spirit of Vaughan and Brown while infusing the music with fresh energy and heartfelt reverence..
