MSW presents Fernando Ortega- A Benefit Concert for The Spiritual Formation Society of Arizona. (SFSAZ)
In the early 1990s, young composer and pianist Fernando Ortega, classically trained and musically complex, entered the Christian music scene. His distinctively earthy sound perplexed and even defied the pop status quo. Descended from eight generations of Mexican weavers, this son of the Rio Grande entwined thoughtful melodies with Celtic, bluegrass, classical and Latin American influences to create something unique and rare.Â
Today, Fernando is one of Christian music’s most respected artists, his works encompassing modern hymns, liturgical songs, and Inspirational and praise & worship favorites. The desire of SFSAZ is to foster the spiritual formation movement in Arizona (and beyond) and create safe environments for prayer, exploring the inner life, and renewal, where learners and leaders can experience and grow in the love of God.
Through networking and cooperation with individuals, churches and other ministries, we bring Spiritual Formation resources to Arizona and highlight what God is up to in our local area.
We offer a safe place to grow and explore on the journey of the heart through soul care days, retreats and other events. Our desire is to provide opportunities that create exposure to spiritual formation, experience in community, and encouragement to each person in their journey.
