Miki Yamanaka Trio

Japanese-born pianist Miki Yamanaka has become a standout figure in NYC’s jazz scene since moving there in 2012. Known for her “light, expressive touch” and vibrant personality, Miki has gained international recognition through her celebrated albums, including Shades of Rainbow, featuring jazz masters Mark Turner, Tyrone Allen, and Jimmy Macbride. A leader of the “New York Scene,” she holds residencies at iconic clubs Smalls and Mezzrow, and during the pandemic, launched her popular live-stream series, “Miki’s Mood.” Whether performing as a bandleader or sideman, Miki captivates audiences with her talent, charm, and cultural pride, often seen wearing her signature kimonos on stage.
