Join the Eric Rasmussen Quartet for a deep dive into the unique compositions of the Tristano school and their impact on improvisation and composition for this unique workshop held in Ravenscroft’s Jazzbird Lounge. Featuring saxophonist Eric Rasmussen, guitarist Nate Radley, bassist Dave Ambrosio, and drummer Mark Ferber, this workshop offers insights from top-tier jazz artists as they prepare for their upcoming Steeplechase release, School of Tristano Vol. 4. Co-Presented by SCC at Ravenscroft at the invitation of MSW Education.
About the artists…
Eric Rasmussen
Saxophonist and composer, Eric Rasmussen relocated to Phoenix from NYC in 2007. He’s performed with jazz icons like Lee Konitz, Joe Lovano, and Billy Hart. A Steeplechase recording artist, he leads the Eric Rasmussen Quartet and Running From Bears.
Dave Ambrosio
Bassist and educator, Dave Ambrosio has performed with jazz legends including Kenny Werner and Terry Gibbs. He co-leads Grupo Los Santos and 40Twenty and recently released his second album, Moments in Time on Steeplechase.
Nate Radley
Guitarist and composer, Nate Radley leads his own group and performs internationally. He recently released Puzzle People on Steeplechase and is an Associate Professor at Berklee College of Music.
Mark Ferber
Drummer Mark Ferber has recorded over 200 albums and tours internationally. He’s worked with top artists like Lee Konitz, Gary Peacock, and Ralph Alessi, and is part of several acclaimed jazz ensembles.
Snacks and drinks will not be provided during this event. Doors open at 12:45 pm, and the workshop begins at 1:00 pm.
