ABOUT THE ARTIST
Nick Finzer is an acclaimed trombonist, composer, and bandleader recognized as one of today’s distinctive voices on the instrument. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music and The Juilliard School, Finzer has performed with artists including Wynton Marsalis, Anat Cohen, and Dafnis Prieto, appearing on renowned stages from Carnegie Hall and Birdland to the Sydney Opera House.
Named a “Rising Star Trombonist” in the DownBeat Critics Poll, Finzer has released a growing catalog of acclaimed recordings, including Legacy: A Centennial Celebration of J.J. Johnson, which reached No. 1 on the JazzWeek charts. Through both his original music and fresh approaches to the jazz tradition, Finzer continues to bring an inventive, contemporary voice to the trombone.
