WHAT TO EXPECT
Jazzbirds brings together pianist Angelo Versace, saxophonist John Dawson, and drummer Nick MacGregor for an evening of jazz standards and original compositions, joined by internationally renowned bassist Corcoran Holt. Drawing on careers spanning international stages, acclaimed recordings, and adventurous original projects, these four musicians share a love of swing, melodic expression, and spontaneous musical conversation.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Versace, Artistic Director at Ravenscroft and Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Arizona, has performed with artists including Lewis Nash, Terell Stafford, and Warren Wolf, and tours and records with Dave Potter’s Retro Groove. Dawson, Director of Music for Music Serving the Word, brings two decades of worldwide performance experience, including leadership of the U.S. Air Force’s Falconaires and Ambassadors and collaborations with artists such as the New York Voices and Till Brönner. MacGregor, Creative Producer & Artist Development Lead, contributes a wide-ranging musical imagination as a multi-instrumentalist and composer who independently wrote and produced six instrumental albums between 2023 and 2025. Holt’s expressive bass playing has carried him from the Village Vanguard to the North Sea Jazz Festival, with credits alongside Kenny Garrett, Roy Hargrove, and Mulgrew Miller.
Together, the quartet brings fresh perspectives to familiar repertoire and original music, inviting listeners into an evening of shared creativity, discovery, and groove.
