Ravenscroft Presents the Arizona Piano Institute

Join an internationally-renowned roster of concert pianists appearing in Ravenscroft Hall for the API Summer Festival 2025 Faculty Artist Recital. This special matinee event kicks off the annual, weeklong festival, which provides an invaluable opportunity for young piano students to participate in educational workshops, recitals, and masterclasses.

This year’s API Faculty Artist Recital will feature an impressive group of remarkably gifted pianists, including Aviram Reichert, Elisabeth Pridonoff, Eugene Pridonoff, Dian Baker, and Eckart Sellheim. These distinguished artist-teachers will perform various selections of solo and duo repertoire. The program will include an intermission.

About the artists…

Aviram Reichert studied at the Rubin Academy of Music, Tel Aviv with Professor Arie Vardi. He has performed with major orchestras around the world and is a frequent soloist with the leading orchestras in his native country Israel. Reichert won the bronze medal at the 10th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 1997, as well as several major competitions in countries such as Japan, Korea, France, and Germany.

Internationally known as a pianist and pedagogue, Elisabeth Pridonoff served on the faculty of the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music for more than three decades. Her students have won many prestigious awards and hold positions at institutions worldwide. Pridonoff continues to teach at the Brevard Music Festival and also serves as Co-Artistic Director of the International Institute for the Advanced Study of Piano Performance (IIASPP).

Eugene Pridonoff is internationally recognized as a leading performing pedagogue, in a career spanning more than a half-century. Pridonoff served as Professor of Piano at the University of Cincinnati, Arizona State University, Iowa State University, and Temple University. He studied with Rudolf Serkin, Mieczyslaw Horszowski, Eleanor Sokoloff, Lillian Steuber, Emmanuel Bay, and Alice Ehlers, at the University of Southern California, Curtis Institute of Music, and Temple University.

Eckart Sellheim and Dian Baker have combined their years of artistic experiences into the perfect medium – the piano duo. Since 1998, they have concertized throughout the United States and Europe. Sellheim maintains an active performance schedule, having made concert tours in the US, Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East, Africa, and throughout Europe. Baker, an internationally-acclaimed pianist, has toured both as a soloist and a chamber music collaborator in thirty countries across four continents.

For this special event, lobby doors open at 12:45pm and Ravenscroft Hall opens at 1:30pm. Choose from a fine selection of wine and craft beers before the show. Light refreshments will also be available for purchase at the bar. No food or drink will be permitted inside of Ravenscroft Hall. Please note that parking is free and abundant on-site at Ravenscroft.
