ABOUT THE ARTIST

Born in Silver City, New Mexico, Raúl’s musical journey began at the age of four, when he began classical piano training that led him to fall deeply in love with jazz. After earning his Masters in Music Education with a focus on jazz from Arizona State University, Raul has dedicated over two decades to teaching and mentoring aspiring musicians.

His passion for music has taken him to Hong Kong, Singapore, Jakarta, Japan, Thailand, Mexico, Portugal, and across the United States, working with a variety of artists including George Benson, Tito Puente Jr., Sister Sledge, Jimmy Smith, El Chicano, Esteban, and Joey DeFrancesco. His collaboration with DJ Radar led to the creation of Concerto for Turntable, a masterpiece that resonates with audiences worldwide, earning mention in prestigious performances at Carnegie Hall.

Now, alongside his brother and dear friends, Yáñez invites you to immerse yourself in an evening of Latin Jazz. From Mambo and Salsa to the soulful melodies of Bolero, Cha Cha, Cumbia and Samba, experience the energy and rich diversity of Latin music as interpreted by this exceptional group.
