Join us for a vibrant celebration of the Phoenix jazz scene at “Ode to the Scene,” a special multi-band showcase honoring the talent, energy, and tradition of our local jazz community. The evening will feature dynamic performances by four swinging bands, highlighting some of the Valley’s most influential musicians—and marking a heartfelt farewell to one of its own.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

This concert will be jazz pianist, composer, and arranger Arsen Nalbandian’s final performance as a leader at Ravenscroft before he relocates to New York City later this fall. Based in the Phoenix metropolitan area for the past nine years, Arsen has grown within and contributed to the local jazz community with his expressive playing, deep sense of swing, and fresh yet classic approach rooted in the bebop tradition. He has performed with acclaimed artists such as Sean Jones, Corcoran Holt, David Glasser, and Lewis Nash.

For this special send-off, Arsen has curated a lineup of local musicians who have shaped his life both musically and personally. The night promises a dynamic mix of styles, collaborations, and musical storytelling—a tribute to the community that helped shape his journey.
