Friday, January 31st, at 7:00pm, Jazzbird welcomes the Metta Quintet! Featured artists include Hans Schuman– Drums, Christopher McBride– Alto Saxophone, Ben Flocks– Tenor Saxophone, Mike Gurrola– Bass, and Lawrence Fields– Piano.

The METTA QUINTET is a dynamic ensemble of today’s most esteemed artists, driven by a passion for creative exploration and arts education. With a commitment to challenging conventions, they present immersive, multi-media concert experiences while nurturing young talent.

Since their acclaimed debut Going to Meet The Man in 2002, featuring works inspired by James Baldwin, they have continued to innovate with projects like Subway Songs, which captures the vibrant energy of New York City’s subway, and Big Drum/Small World, showcasing original compositions from renowned global composers. Experience an evening filled with wonderful jazz and choose from a fine selection of wine, craft beers, and catered dinner options for purchase.
