Jazzbird Nights: Brooke Leigh Davis

Formally trained as an opera singer, Brooke built her voice from the ground up, developing the breath support, tonal clarity, and dynamic range that define classical excellence. That training became the bedrock of a career that moved beyond the concert stage. Drawn to the collaborative energy and narrative richness of musical theater, she became a fixture in Nashville’s theater community, performing leading, featured, and ensemble roles in productions spanning classic Broadway repertoire, musical drama, and operatic crossover works.

Growing up in St. Paul, MN was Brooke’s foundation in the jazz standards of the American songbook. Under the guidance of her mother, local jazz legend Roberta Davis, she began to develop her understanding of phrasing, dynamics, and storytelling, shaping the interpretive instincts that would define the next chapter of her career.

Four years ago, Brooke made Phoenix her home. Stepping fully into the work of jazz, blues, and R&B, she brought every ounce of her classical and theatrical training with her. Her jazz phrasing carries the elegance of a trained ear, her blues delivery carries weight and her R&B performances are soulful, drawing on a vocal command that turns a great song into an unforgettable moment.
