Join us as we celebrate the timeless music of the legendary Milt Jackson—a tribute to one of jazz’s most influential jazz masters and performers. Milt Jackson was not only a master of the Vibraphone, but also a visionary musician, composer, and innovator whose impact on jazz remains unmatched. This performance celebrates his legacy with fresh interpretations of his iconic arrangements and original compositions—each brimming with hard-swinging grooves, soulful melodies, and the unmistakable spirit of straight ahead jazz. Chris Ross-Corner Pocket Quartet joins with NYC professional Vibraphonist- Chuck Redd, as well as Phoenix legend Lewis Nash to add reverence and compassion to the enduring energy of Milt Jackson’s sound.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Led by acclaimed bassist Chris Ross, the Corner Pocket Quartet is comprised of some of the Valley’s premier jazz musicians and educators. Since its formation in 2020, the ensemble has become known for its outstanding musicianship, performing a wide range of jazz styles—from swing and bebop to Latin jazz and modern classics—at venues and events throughout Arizona.
Known for their dynamic interplay, expressive improvisation, and polished performances, the quartet creates an engaging concert experience that appeals to both longtime jazz enthusiasts and new listeners alike. With a shared passion for honoring jazz tradition while bringing fresh energy to every performance, the Corner Pocket Quartet continues to establish itself as one of Arizona’s leading jazz ensembles.
