ABOUT THE ARTIST
Dennis “Denny” Monce is a respected jazz trumpeter, educator, and freelance musician based in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Over the course of his career, he has performed with legendary artists including Tony Bennett, Natalie Cole, Gladys Knight, Johnny Mathis, Mel Tormé, and The Temptations, in addition to working extensively in musical theater productions and big bands. His background includes years spent performing on cruise ships throughout the Western Hemisphere as well as studying and performing in the Los Angeles music scene, where he trained with renowned trumpet instructors and jazz musicians.
In addition to his extensive performance career, Monce is deeply involved in jazz education and serves on the jazz studies faculty at Arizona State University. Known throughout Arizona’s jazz community for his versatility, professionalism, and expressive playing style, he has become a sought-after performer in both traditional and contemporary jazz settings. His passion for jazz remains central to his work, whether performing as a bandleader, collaborating with fellow musicians, or mentoring the next generation of jazz artists.
