WHAT TO EXPECT

Alto saxophonist Devin Daniels is one of Los Angeles’ most distinctive and versatile rising voices in jazz. An Inglewood native, Daniels’ dynamic sound and expressive tone have led him to perform with artists including Gerald Clayton, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, John Beasley, and Jamael Dean. In 2023, he was invited by Herbie Hancock to perform at the Hollywood Bowl alongside Ron Carter, Jack DeJohnette, Terence Blanchard, Chris Potter, and Kamasi Washington in tribute to Wayne Shorter—followed by a 2024 U.S. tour with Hancock’s band. A graduate of Berklee College of Music and the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz Studies at UCLA, Daniels continues to expand the boundaries of modern jazz. His newest album, LesGo!, recorded live at Sam First, captures the raw energy of LA’s creative scene and solidifies Daniels as a powerful voice in contemporary music.
