ABOUT THE ARTIST

Dmitri Matheny is an acclaimed American horn player celebrated for his lyrical phrasing, and deeply expressive style. Hailed by the San Francisco Chronicle as “one of the jazz world’s most talented horn players,” Matheny has built an international reputation through his soulful improvisations and elegant compositions. A protégé of legendary trumpeter Art Farmer and an honors graduate of Berklee College of Music, Matheny launched his professional career in the 1990s and has since released 12 albums and toured extensively across the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

Known for his versatility and artistic depth, he leads the Dmitri Matheny Group, an all-star ensemble praised for their dynamic mix of original music and jazz standards. Whether performing in intimate clubs or concert halls, the Dmitri Matheny Group brings emotional clarity to every note, making them a standout voice in contemporary jazz.
