Join the Eric Rasmussen NYC Quartet for a special evening celebrating the release of their new album, Don’t Steal My Stuff, on SteepleChase Records—recorded right here at Ravenscroft! First established in New York City 30 years ago, the quartet is known for its intricate interplay and deep respect for jazz tradition. Blending classic influences with a forward-looking perspective, the group will perform selections from the new release alongside other inspired works. Expect a night of clever improvisation, tight ensemble play, and captivating musicianship.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Eric Rasmussen is an acclaimed saxophonist, composer, and educator whose career has spanned the vibrant jazz scenes of New York City, Europe, and the American Southwest. A graduate of the New England Conservatory and California Institute of the Arts, he has performed with jazz legends including Lee Konitz, Joe Lovano, Billy Hart, Danilo Pérez, and Paul Bley.
As a SteepleChase recording artist, Rasmussen has led acclaimed ensembles including the Eric Rasmussen Quartet and Tristano Band while earning recognition for his expressive playing and inventive compositions. In addition to an active international performing career, he serves as Director of Instrumental Music at Scottsdale Community College, inspiring the next generation of jazz musicians.
