ABOUT THE ARTIST
G. Thomas Allen is an award-winning jazz vocalist, composer, and educator recognized for his extraordinary vocal range and genre-defying style. Originally from Danville, Virginia, and later based in Chicago, he has gained national and international recognition for his work, including making history as the first male winner of the prestigious Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition. His voice is noted for its flexibility, smooth tone, and ability to bridge multiple musical traditions, from jazz and gospel to opera and contemporary music.
In addition to his performance career, Allen is an accomplished educator and currently serves as an Associate Professor of Voice at Berklee College of Music. He has performed with renowned artists such as Jacob Collier, Coldplay, and Faith Hill, and has appeared on Grammy-nominated recordings. With a career that spans the stage, studio, and classroom, Allen continues to shape the future of vocal music through both his artistry and his innovative approach to teaching.
