ABOUT THE ARTIST
Irving Flores is a Mexican-American pianist, composer, arranger, and producer widely recognized for his explosive Latin jazz style and sophisticated musical arrangements. Born in Veracruz, Mexico, he began studying music at a young age, influenced by his father’s career as a musician and immersed in Afro-Cuban rhythms from early childhood. Over a career spanning more than four decades, Flores has developed a reputation as a virtuoso performer and innovative artist, performing internationally and continually pushing the boundaries of jazz.
Throughout his career, Flores has collaborated with a wide range of renowned artists, including Poncho Sanchez, Airto Moreira, and the Spanish Harlem Orchestra, and has created award-winning arrangements for major Latin music figures such as Luis Miguel and Armando Manzanero. In addition to his work as a performer, he is also an accomplished producer and educator, contributing to both live performance and studio projects. Now based in San Diego, he continues to influence the jazz world through his recordings, performances, and commitment to musical innovation.
