WHAT TO EXPECT
Experience an evening of inventive, expressive jazz with Nick MacGregor & Friends, bringing together the jazz tradition with original music and a fresh, contemporary sound.
Drawing inspiration from jazz, soul, R&B, gospel, and contemporary music, MacGregor creates music that feels both nostalgic and forward-looking, shaped by rich melodies, creative rhythms, thoughtful harmony, and cinematic influences. Joined by a group of accomplished musicians, he brings it all to life through dynamic arrangements, improvisation, and spontaneous musical connection—perfectly suited to the intimate Jazzbird setting.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Nick MacGregor is a drummer, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer whose music blends deep jazz roots with soul, R&B, gospel, and modern influences. An Arizona native, MacGregor began playing drums and piano at an early age and went on to earn both a Bachelor and Master of Music in Jazz Studies from Arizona State University, along with a Certificate in Music Business.
A prolific composer and recording artist, MacGregor has released a growing catalog of original instrumental music, including Adventure Music and his four-volume Light Source series. Whether behind the drums, composing, producing, or collaborating with other musicians, he brings an imaginative and distinctly personal voice to every musical setting.
